KYOSHO ORIGINAL 1/18scale Toyota Land Cruiser 60 (Red) [No.KS08956R]
Description
In 1967 the Land Cruiser entered a new stage, breaking away from a full off-road 4WD into a station wagon that emphasized ride comfort and stability with the launch of the 55 series (56 series overseas). With the 40 series still in use, the launch of the 60 series in 1980 made the change even more obvious. Major changes to the body shape included independent fenders that kept the jeep motif but adopted the square form that was popular in North America. The spartan interior was changed from rugged and robust to the comfort of a passenger car with a full range of equipment. A new gasoline (4.2ℓ inline 6 cylinder, 4ℓ inline 6 cylinder) engine was developed and the trusted 40 series diesel 4ℓ inline 6 cylinder, 3.4ℓ inline 4 cylinder, 3.4ℓ inline 4 cylinder, 4ℓ in-line 6-cylinder turbo) engine was evolved. Like the 40 series, a single wheelbase was used on all models that were separated by grade through year-of-make and options such as round or square headlights / high roof or standard roof / double opening or vertical opening / overfender included or not. Coinciding with an off-roading boom in Japan and overseas, the Land Cruiser became one of the coveted cars in the world.
