Based on the ‘IS’ FR sedan at the entry level of the Lexus range, the ‘IS F’ was released in 2007 as the first high-performance model. On 21 July 2022, the IS500 was unveiled as its successor and included the ‘F SPORT Performance’ model with modified powertrain, suspension, and brakes. 50mm longer, the F SPORT Performance features a raised ‘Power Dome’ bonnet and inherited the 5ℓ V8 DOHC engine jointly developed with Yamaha from the IS F, GS F/RC F/LC that produces 481㎰／54.6g-m (58ps more than the original model). With an 8-Speed SPDS (8-Speed Sport Direct Shift), the dedicated setting achieves shift speeds of 0.2 seconds and is packaged with a four-unit exhaust inspired by the supersport LFA model in the image of the IS F.
