Lexus released its first large luxury minivan ‘LM’ (Luxury Mover) in 2020 for Asian markets including China, Taiwan and India. Based on Toyota’s Alphard/Vellfire, the LM adopted the signature Lexus spindle grille with high-quality chrome plating to accent the luxury finish to the body and overall design. Focused on the main market of China was the four-seater ‘Royal Edition’ based on the Modellista Royal Lounge which existed in Japan until 2020, and the top of range seven-seater Alphard Executive Lounge. One of the defining design elements is a partition between the front and rear seats with a large 26-inch monitor, retractable table and high-back chairs that wrap from back to head like a first-class airline seat. Other standard features include memory set reclining / massage function / power footrest and Mark Levinson audio system to create a luxurious space suitable for chauffeur-driven standards. The 2.5ℓ in-line 4-cylinder + hybrid system provides sufficient power to drive the vehicle weight of over 2t. Reflecting the elegance and prestige of the top model in the Lexus brand, the LM sells for 1,166,000 yuan (18,650,000 yen) and the higher-grade Royal Edition at 1,466,000 yuan (23,450,000 yen), both at the time of release in 2020. This luxury Lexus van has strong appeal with VIP customers.
