      • Nissan Skyline 2000 Turbo RS-X

Nissan’s 2000 Turbo Intercooler RS-X sports sedan is a high-performance grade of the sixth-generation R30 Skyline with a rear-wheel-drive layout powered by the FJ20ET DOHC 4-valve inline four-cylinder turbo engine. Upgraded with an intercooler in 1984, the 1,990cc FJ20ET produced a maximum output of 205 hp at 6,400 rpm and 245 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. Combined with a 5-speed manual transmission, it delivered standout acceleration even among Japanese performance cars of the era. Measuring 4,620 mm in length, 1,675 mm in width, and 1,385 mm in height, and weighing 1,235 kg, it was equipped with an independent suspension system featuring front struts and a rear semi-trailing arm, that produced not only strong straight-line stability but also well-balanced overall performance. It’s bold exterior design with grille-less front fascia earned it the nickname “Iron Mask.” The distinctive two-tone red and black color scheme further reinforced its distinctive identity. Rumors swirled of a GT-R revival, but the adoption of a four-cylinder turbo engine led to its release as the RS Turbo instead which paved the way for the GT-R’s eventual return. It stands tall even today as an iconic 1980s Japanese sports saloon and embodies the Skyline’s performance heritage.

      • About the Kyosho Original Mini Car Series

The Kyosho Original Mini Car Series was launched in 1991 and, as its name suggests, is a long-standing line that represents Kyosho. Today, the series is available in a variety of scales, including 1/12, 1/18, and 1/43, but it originally began in 1/18 scale.

Making use of this relatively large size for a die-cast model, the series has, since its inception, upheld the philosophy of achieving a high level of balance between accurately reproducing the real car’s proportions and faithfully recreating fine interior and exterior details.

      • What Is a Resin Model?

A model primarily made of non-foamed polyurethane resin, commonly used for limited-production miniature cars. Because it utilizes molds that differ from those used for die-cast models, production volumes are lower; however, it offers superior detail and reproduction accuracy.

    • The sixth-generation model debuted under the catchphrase “New Man Skyline.” It was offered in both four-door and two-door versions. While the latter no longer featured the “surf line” design carried over from the previous generation, its sharp styling strongly hinted at its performance-oriented character.

    • The red/black two-tone color scheme was first introduced on a racing car and was later adapted for production models. The lower section of the body is also equipped with a chipping protector to prevent damage caused by flying stones.

    • In the later version, the grille was removed and the headlights were made slimmer, resulting in a more aggressive and refined front fascia. The air duct located on the left side of the front spoiler signifies that the vehicle is equipped with an intercooler.

    • The round taillights are a symbol of the Skyline. With the introduction of the later “Iron Mask” front end, the taillights were also changed to a smoked type with slits. The dual exhaust system has been faithfully reproduced as well.

    • Although several types of aluminum wheels were offered for the RS series, the fin-type 15-inch wheels were introduced with the later model. The matte-textured finish and the Skyline emblem on the center cap have been rendered with remarkable realism.

    • The red/black interior features the exclusive high-touch moquette seat trim that was added at a later stage. Traditional Skyline elements, such as the horizontal-needle gauges and the red badge on the steering wheel, have also been faithfully reproduced.
