The Mitsubishi Delica has carved a special niche by blending rugged SUV characteristics with the practicality of a one-box vehicle. Through its evolution, the Delica has adopted several sub-names like Starwagon and Space Gear before being reintroduced in 2007 as the "D:5."
Representing the fifth generation of the Delica, the D:5 remains true to its two core qualities: the spacious interior typical of a one-box design and the excellent off-road capabilities expected of an SUV.
With its distinctive square-shaped body, high ground clearance and large tires, the Delica is instantly recognizable. Optimized packaging delivers an enhanced interior that offers more space than the previous Space Gear model. Flexible seat arrangements make the vehicle highly adaptable and suitable for a variety of lifestyles and situations.
At the heart of its performance is an electronically controlled 4WD system that adjusts torque distribution between the front and rear wheels to changes in driving conditions. Paired with ASC (Active Stability Control), the system minimizes skidding and tire spin, ensuring impressive off-road performance on rough terrain. Initially, all models came equipped with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine, but Mitsubishi later introduced a new gasoline engine and added a clean diesel option along with continuous updates to the interior and exterior.
A significant facelift in 2019 incorporated Mitsubishi's signature "Dynamic Shield" design, giving the Delica an even more striking appearance. Vertical LED headlights and position lamps presented a modern and innovative front aspect while the rear design created a sense of continuity with the combination lights and garnish that further emphasized the Delica’s individuality.
