SAMURAI 1/18scale Toyota Century GRMN (White) [No.KSR18046W]

The Century was launched in 1967 as a ‘special sedan’ for government officials and business executives. It is said that this car reflects the growth of the Japanese economy over the last 50 years. Famous for its long model cycle, the current model is the 3rd generation released in 2018.
Primarily chauffeur-driven with priority given to backseat passengers, there is a special Century model with interior and exterior features that focus on the driver. This Century GRMN is Toyota’s most exclusive model and is used by the president of Toyota Motor Corp, Mr. Akio Toyoda.
Developed by the ‘GR Company’ that is involved in Toyota’s motor sports activities, this model was a one-off born from Toyota Company president Mr. Toyoda’s idea to connect the pleasure of driving with Toyota’s skill at mass production.
The non-standard white exterior body color combines with a honeycomb-shaped front grille, lower skirt, and carbon lip spoiler for a low center of gravity.
There is only one GR model using the ultimate ‘GRMN’ name, which features specially setup air suspension, 245/45R19 size Advan Sport V105 tires, BBS forged aluminum wheels, opposed piston calipers with precision wheel hubs. Power train tuning is a personal thing but the car designer states, “it provides more than enough performance”.
According to Toyota’s master driver, the optimal balance between rear seat comfort and driving enjoyment is achieved. While the chauffeur is responsible for driving, Mr. Toyoda definitely seems to be the one in control.
For its quality and reliability, there are strong demands from users for production cars. Or maybe GR’s mission is to break Toyota out of its shell.
