Custom car culture thrives not only in Japan but across Europe and the US, and one of the most globally recognized names on the scene is “Kyza.” Known for aggressive styling, often inspired by Japanese “shakotan” culture, UK designer Khyzyl Saleem’s following is approaching one million on Instagram. While best known for his high-impact renderings, Saleem has also generated plenty of buzz with real world body kit designs showcased at major events such as SEMA Show and Tokyo Auto Salon.

Strongly influenced by 1980s IMSA racing, Saleem draws inspiration from that era in many of his designs. This left-hand-drive AE86 Trueno (also known as the Corolla GT-S) takes cues from IMSA-spec RX-7 race cars. Flowing blister fenders and a large “whale tail” rear spoiler evoke classic race styling, while modern elements are seamlessly integrated. Distinctive wheels and uniquely split exhaust pipes further emphasize its bold character.

The Kyosho Original Mini Car Series was first introduced in 1991, 34 years ago. As the name suggests, it is a long-standing mini car lineup that represents Kyosho.

Today, the series is available in multiple scales such as 1/12, 1/18, and 1/43, but it originally began in 1/18 scale. Taking advantage of its relatively large size for a mini car, the series has, from the very beginning, excelled at combining accurate proportions of the real vehicles with a high level of detail reproduction, including engines and interiors.

A model primarily made from non-foamed polyurethane resin, commonly used for limited-production miniature cars. Because it uses molds different from those used in die-cast production, manufacturing volumes are lower, but it offers superior detail and accuracy in reproduction.
