KYOSHO ORIGINAL 1/18scale LAMBORGHINI SILHOUETTE (RED) [No.KSR18513R]
Description
■ Resin model
The Lamborghini Countach is a legendary supercar admired worldwide by enthusiasts of all ages. However, the Silhouette is a less recognized gem in the Lamborghini lineup, with only 53 units of this extremely rare model ever produced.
The Silhouette is a two-seater sports car derived from the Urraco, which Lamborghini originally designed to compete against the likes of the Porsche 911 in the 2+2 sports car market. While the Silhouette retained much of the Urraco’s basic form, removal of the rear seats transformed it into a true two-seater featuring a Targa-style design with a detachable roof that added to its unique appeal.
Styling elements like the front spoiler and over fenders evoke the aggressive aesthetics of the Countach LP400S and LP500S, and gave the Silhouette its unmistakable Lamborghini presence.
Mechanically, the Silhouette shared its mid-mounted 3.0-liter V8 DOHC engine with the Urraco but boasted higher output of 260 horsepower, 10 horsepower more than the Urraco. Extensive tuning with reworked suspension system and staggered Pirelli P7 tires enhanced performance and handling. The Silhouette was able to reach a top speed of 250 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds (manufacturer-claimed figures).
Despite its impressive capabilities, the Silhouette was only produced for a brief three-year period starting in 1976. Its legacy was eventually overshadowed by the Lamborghini Jalpa, which debuted in 1981.
