Launched in August 2000, the V-spec II further sharpened the R34 GT-R’s leading-edge performance. Its standout feature was a carbon-fibre bonnet with NACA ducts that reduced front-end weight while improving cooling efficiency. While retaining the V-spec’s core mechanical layout, the suspension damping was revised to deliver crisper, more precise handling. Inside, aluminium pedals and updated seat upholstery heightened the car’s sporting feel. Chassis code BNR34 measured 4,600 mm in length, 1,785 mm in width, and 1,360 mm in height, with a curb weight of 1,560 kg. Power was generated by the RB26DETT, producing 280 ps at 6,800 rpm and 392 Nm at 4,400 rpm. Without increasing its official output, the V-spec II refined cooling, rigidity, and control systems as a complete package, standing as the most mature expression of the late-model R34 GT-R.
