SAMURAI 1/18scale MOTUL AUTECH Z 2022 #23 [No.KSR18059A]

Nissan’s works team competed in the GT/GT500 class with the GT-Rs for a long time, but the race car was changed with the debut of the RZ34 Fairlady Z. Although similar in appearance to the production model with its distinctive headlights and rear combination lamps, the Z was completely different on the inside. While using a common carbon monocoque chassis with front and rear double wishbone suspension, the 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder turbo ‘NR4S21’ engine was developed according to NRE (Nippon Race Engine) regulations and produced 550ps. Of the four Z’s that were launched in 2022, only #23 NISMO Motul Autech Z was a pure works team effort. In the opening round, the Motul Autech Z placed 9th in the qualifying round, but finished 3rd in the final to secure a podium finish. Although achieving 2nd place in the 6th round, the Motul Autech Z was unable to finish in the top ranks consistently and ultimately finished the series in 7th place. While it failed to fire during the race season, there is no doubt the Motul Autech Z inspired and excited fans with its heated racing battles against its rivals.
